Interactive Rock Show is an event that took place at Bradley University's January Late Night BU. Late Night BU is an initiative to provide Bradley Students with late-night alcohol free entertainment. The first activity, Glow, required players to fill shapes displayed on a screen with the light from glow sticks. A bird's eye view camera used light tracking software to give players instant feedback on their current score. The second activity, Freeform, allowed guests to control elements of the show, such as music and lighting, using custom applications on Apple iPads. Jump Around, the third activity, is a game that requires players to jump on enormous pressure pads with the beat of the music.
My place in the Interactive Rock Show changed as the planning and building of the show progressed. I began as the lead video developer, finding ways to incorporate live video feeds into the show. As planning continued, we decided that live video would not be used. From there I began working on the Jump Around game, developing the gameplay and collaborating with another on the ActionScript. From Jump Around I moved to lighting. Using Isadora software, I worked to create a patch that would allow an iPad to send an OSC signal to a Lanbox that would then set off a specific lighting cue. During the show on January 21st I controlled the video mixer, making sure the correct graphics and games were being projected at all times.
Egyptian Bug Slayer is a game that was developed for the Android mobile operating system. Every aspect of the game was designed, developed, and created by myself and four other people my junior year at Bradley. The goal of the game is to wrap the bone before the spider, scarab beetle, and scorpion eat it away. You can kill the bugs by tapping your finger on them and "squishing" them, but some of them may bite back!
My role in creating Egyptian Bug Slayer was creating animations for each bug in its various states. Each bug has a walking, eating, and squished state that had to be animated. The scrab beetle and scorpion also had additional states, as they are not killed with only one tap. For each tap, the scarab beetle and scorpion are damaged a little more, requiring a different animation to appear. The scorpion had an additional animation on top of this. If you touch the scorpion in the wrong spot, its tail will spring up and sting you.

Each of the animations were created using Adobe Flash.

Portal

The Portal video is a movie I helped create for a video production class. The video is based on the game "Portal" in which the character can create doors to other rooms by shooting a gun. The goal of this video was to create a less than one minute film that used special effects and had a storyline.

My main focus in this video, apart from starring in it, was keying and masking the scene in which the character walks into the classroom.

Life with Spina Bifida

Life with Spina Bifida is a short documentary I made about a close friend who was born with Spina Bifida. She tells her life story and the struggles she conquered growing up, while keeping an amazingly positive outlook on life.

Shortly after I made it, the video was found by the International Federation for Spinda Bifida and they featured it on their homepage.

Glow Images

This is a video bumper I created for my internship at Glow Images. I used Adobe After Effects to create a 3D environment where I placed stock photos and the Glow Images logo. The camera pans through the space, showing each high quality photo before landing on the logo while the photos fade to black.
